New thinking about the role of Women in society

Respected statesman Nelson Mandela could not have been more right when he claimed,

“As long as outmoded ways of thinking prevent women from making a meaningful contribution to society, progress will be slow.”

That is exactly what AFMIN wants to change! We are in the process of developing a dynamic program aimed at empowering women leaders that will be launched in 2016. In preparation for the new leadership initiative to empower women leaders, we have already held numerous phase 1 pilot projects with hundreds of selected key women leaders in various countries. This greatly helped us to do accurate assessment of their needs and give opportunity to the ladies to speak into the development of the curriculum. In addition we are also planning to hold a number of larger phase 2 pilot projects in the second half of 2015 to fine-tune our curriculum and strategy even more.

afmin_women1We are intentionally involving key women in every phase of the development and launching of this new leadership development initiative. It will be a dynamic, relevant leadership development program, developed by women for women! The expressed need, combined with the enthusiasm we observed from key women leaders in the various countries where we held the pilot projects, confirm what we sense in our hearts – the time has arrived for the women of Africa to be empowered to take up their strategic roles as agents of change in their families, communities, and society in general!
